In the steel industry, it is used as the lining refractory for molten steel ladles, and in the field of lithium-ion batteries, it is used in special ceramics such as crucibles for sintering positive electrode materials and setters. "NSP-70" has a composition close to the theoretical value of spinel, while "NSP-90" has an alumina-rich composition in which some of the alumina is solid-solubilized in spinel.
